The cognitive abilities assessment is a comprehensive assessment of the various cognitive processes which provide the foundation for all learning and behavior. We can conduct these assessments with children as young as 5 years of age and adults well into their 90’s.

The cognitive abilities assessments include psychometric/standardized testing, a clinical interview, both formal and informal observations, questionnaires and behavioral assessments. The assessment covers a broad range of skills and is therefore used in the evaluation of most learning disabilities among other diagnoses. The areas assessed range from intellectual abilities to scholastic aptitude and achievement and may include the following areas:

  • Executive functioning
  • Language skills (ie. expressive and receptive language)
